About the Author

EA Mayes has nightmares about rattlesnakes, scorpions, drug traffickers and murderers in cowboy boots occasioned by years in high desert country. She writes a mystery series set in a New Mexico tourists don’t see, a world of poverty and the super rich, of lowrider cars and gangs alongside adobe mansions and political corruption. Like her amateur detective, Minoa Diamond, EA got a Ph.D. at a New York City university and knows something about cultural anthropology. Both of them speak Spanish and travel well in Latino cultures. EA has spent a lot of time in courtrooms watching the wheels of justice sputter. Check out the first four titles in the series: Rattlesnakes Strike Twice, Gavilan Mesa, Spaña Town and Death at Apache Kid.
